Replacement of a two (2) cell Marley counterflow tower on the existing basin.
Pre-construction of the tower frames, in the months prior to the outage at a location away from the tower. Removal and demolition of the existing tower with installation of the structure including transporting the frames from the other area of the site.
The challenges of this project were the detailed planning of the pre-outage construction modules to ensure that they could be relocated from one are to the cooling tower basin within the limitations of the site access.
The project change over was completed within a very tight 18-day turnaround to complete within a normal plant outage, thus avoiding any unplanned production losses.
